Spiritual Investigations: A New Genre for the Truth-Seeker
We live in a veiled world.
It is utterly unbearable at times, if you allow yourself to feel it, how little our society knows about the true origins of humanity. It’s as if there was a sudden blink and we woke up in a fragmented reality, with no memory of our collective past. Ancient texts have been destroyed, others are kept in secret vaults, and the rest of us are left recycling "common knowledge"—the same demi-truths told over and over again.
When I started IN HER GENIUS, I realized I couldn’t just use the labels "Occult" or "New Age." They were too small for the work Michela Chiarelli and Tiziana Ghiggia were doing. So, I coined a new term: Spiritual Investigations.
What is a Spiritual Investigation?
This genre is a bridge between two worlds. It began officially in 2019 with the publication of Antica Magia del Mondo Mediterraneo, and it follows a rigorous methodology:
The Channeling: Michela Chiarelli interacts with ancient Entities who wish to share their version of history. But don't picture "mad possessions" or trance states. Michela remains extremely present—a tradition passed down from her grandmother, Nonna Malva, who believed no "good being" would ever seek to bypass a human’s own mind.
The Rigor: Tiziana Ghiggia, a journalist obsessed with truth, acts as the lead investigator and interviews these Entities. She doesn't take their word as absolute dogma. Instead, she follows up with rigorous research—digging through libraries, historical records, and global cultures to find the "breadcrumbs" of truth that contextualize what has been received. She has the rare skill of asking questions unbiased and non-leading.
The result is a kind of exploration of the past unlike anything I’ve seen before. It answers the lingering questions that Google cannot.
Where the genre was born. This 2019 work laid the foundation for the 'Spiritual Investigation' as a literary form.
One of the most profound aspects of this work is that Michela and Tiziana never go searching for a theme or an Entity. The Entities choose them.
In fact, they often try to refuse. When a new Being appears, their first instinct is often to say "no," feeling that they know nothing about the topic or that the task is too daunting. But they are not left in peace. The Being will persist, sending signs—through synchronicities, dreams, or even physical events—until the work begins. They don't write because they want to feel "special"; they write because they have been tasked with a duty they cannot ignore.
To ensure a clean channel, they never research a subject beforehand. A perfect example occurred during the writing of The Call of Wotan. Michela "heard" specific tutelary deities standing behind each Rune—names she had never heard of in her life.
Only after the information was recorded did Tiziana begin her investigation in the world of form. She dug into obscure archives and linguistics, only to find that these deities actually existed—often with the exact same or strikingly similar names—in ancient traditions they had never studied.
Shattering the Comfort of Lies
I know that for some, this genre is challenging. It has the ability to shatter your world and your most comfortable beliefs. If you have built your identity around a specific historical or spiritual narrative, these revelations will rock your boat.
But ask yourself: Why are you here? If you are reading this, it is likely because the "reassuring" books haven't worked. The mind is never satisfied with demi-truths. For me, publishing these books was worth it for the sake of Knowledge itself. Truth is never handed to us on a silver platter; it is a reward for those willing to dig through the nonsense of centuries to find a single thread of gold.
We don't publish these books to repeat what has been written a thousand times. We publish them to fill in the gaps that history left open.

Is it Truth?
Yes. And no. But also, maybe.
Ultimately, that is for you, the reader, to decide. Our books—from the origins of the Mother Goddess in the Justice for Inanna series to the mysteries of The Call of Wotan—are written for the sake of Memory. They are for those who want to stray from the "common path of knowledge" and see what lies in the shadows.

For me, publishing these works is an immense privilege. We all know that this work is far too important to be measured by money-making or popularity. These texts must exist. They make life more interesting, more layered, and more deeply connected to the "unexplainable."
I can see these books being rediscovered in hundreds of years—as blueprints for a time when humanity finally decided to stop recycling the same stories and started looking for the truth. Through these "Investigations," we are keeping a memory alive as a breathing path.
