The House

There is a force in every woman that has no name in the modern world.

The Romans called it the Juno - her animating spirit. Her indwelling nature. Not her personality. Not her potential. The force that produces her. In Latin, this was called her genius - the sovereign, creative power that is uniquely, irreducibly hers.

IN HER GENIUS takes its name from this.

IN HER GENIUS was born from a specific, rare necessity: to provide a home for a lineage that survived through silence for centuries. We do not merely publish information. We guard a living current.

We are rooted in the Ancient Italian Tradition of the Mothers, a lineage of knowing passed through the maternal line across generations, long before it had a name the modern world would recognise.

The Tradition of the Mothers is not about worshipping external forces. It is about knowing your own nature so completely that nothing outside you has dominion over you. The shamanic work, the Spiritual Investigations, the REWRITE series (…) are all different angles on the same inquiry: knowing what you are made of so that you cannot be unmade by the world.

That is sovereignty.

We believe the inner life is the most important work a woman can do, because it is the only thing that stays with you always. It is the only place where true freedom resides.

The tools we provide are the ones we use. We read and study the books. We listen to the music to cleanse the soul. We colour the goddesses to focus and communicate with a greater force. We rewrite our beliefs. We consult the oracles. We do the rituals.

Our life is the practice.

Our publications are living texts: intentional artefacts with whom to interact, ask questions, scribble notes in the margins. The answers will follow.

THE WOMEN OF THE HOUSE

We live ordinary lives. For us, Magic is something lived, tested, and grounded in the fabric of daily life.

Michela Chiarelli

Seventh-generation medicine woman — seer, painter, writer, composer, harpist, healer

A multidisciplinary artist, author of over thirty works, and creator of protocols that have woven ancestral wisdom - passed down through seven generations - with the precision of contemporary research, Michela has transformed her studio in Turin’s countryside into a laboratory of deep attunement.

Through the Erian and MiLovvo.TooMuch projects, she has redefined the concept of "inheritance" - not only the biological kind, but the kind built every day through sound, the graphic mark, and the care of the body as temple.

Her research into the shamanic method of the harp and her tireless editorial work with IN HER GENIUS have traced a path for those who seek authenticity beyond dogma.

Michela does not "heal." She does not seek precarious balance. She bears witness to existence - making the invisible visible, one book, one note, one mark at a time.

Tiziana Ghiggia

Investigator, journalist, truth-seeker

Trained as a journalist and the author of nearly ten books published in Italy, Tiziana brings rigorous investigative precision to the work of spiritual inquiry. She is obsessed with seeking the truth - first in herself, then in the world, and beyond.

She lives quietly, surrounded by books, working with the focus of someone who knows that real research is never finished. Highly intelligent, deeply witty, and utterly unsentimental, she is the one who asks the real question in the room and waits, patiently, for the honest answer.

By day she works at the Red Cross. In the margins of everything else, she investigates gods.

Cristina Carrara

Artisan of the Genesa Crystal

She began in a darkroom - developing and printing photographs with the patience of someone who already understood that beauty requires time and precision. She worked as a cashier, then studied, then spent years as a nursery educator, tending to the very beginning of human lives.

And then, almost by chance, she met Michela Chiarelli.

That meeting opened a new chapter. Through Michela's teaching she began to explore shamanism, to listen more carefully to herself, and to study the harp - an instrument that seemed distant at first, until its sound became a refuge and a language for what words cannot carry.

It was through this path that she rediscovered the pleasure of making things with her hands. She became passionate about building Genesa Crystals, structures rooted in sacred geometry. The process requires focus, patience, and the transformation of simple materials into something harmonious. In each one, she builds what she is always seeking: beauty, balance, and meaning.

Every job, every encounter, every change contributed to the woman she became. She trusts that. She continues to study, to create, to care, and to leave space for what life brings next.

Tanya Gervasi

Founder of IHG, entrepreneur

I spent two decades in the world of modelling and entertainment before becoming an entrepreneur. I studied food as culture, language as inheritance, and initiation as the most serious practice a woman can undertake. I am a graduate of the University of Gastronomic Sciences and the founder of IN HER GENIUS.

From childhood, I had known magic as something real. Not metaphor or fantasy, but a living presence so immediate and so certain that it was difficult to exist in a world that didn’t share that knowing. In time, I made myself forget.

It wasn't until my early thirties that I met Michela Chiarelli and what I had always known began to come alive again. Michela is my teacher and my friend. The mage I had always dreamed of knowing. It is out of deep respect and reverence for her lineage that I built IN HER GENIUS as a home for something rare, true, and worth preserving.

I am currently present for the early life of my daughter, Lea, and writing about what it means to raise a girl who will need less unlearning.
